TODAY'S HIGHLIGHTS:
Quake updates continue today including reports of a 5.2 aftershock. The US Agency for International Development provides a helpful updated factsheet on the situation in Ica (see also their full 3-pp report).

Yale Daily News (Rachel Boyd and Andrew Mangino) reports that "Yale and Peru are closer than ever to resolving their long-standing dispute over artifacts from Machu Picchu, and a delegation from Peru will be arriving at Yale late next week for negotiations about the status of the objects." ('Peru Talks to Enter Key Phase')

Several notable articles are on the arts including the re-release of ¡Gózalo! Bugalú Tropical, Volume 2 which Toronto's Now Magazine says is "a stellar second installment in their amazing document of the searing Latin jazz, storming R&B and bruising boogaloo jams recorded in Peru during the 60s and 70s." CD versions of Vol 1 and Vol 2 are available online from Munster Records (Spain).

Finally, there are also several food-related items today. (Thursdays are usually devoted to restaurant reviews in the North American press.)
